Meet Yawa, the Heart Behind YAWA & CO
Hi, I’m Yawa. I’m a wife, a mom of two, and a first-generation immigrant who came to the U.S. about 17 years ago — though honestly, some days it feels like yesterday. When I first got here, life moved fast. I was building a career, raising a family, and doing my best to keep all the plates spinning. Somewhere along the way, I realized I was running on fumes.
That’s when it hit me — self-care isn’t a luxury. It’s survival.
But “self-care” can mean a lot of things. For me, it began with small, quiet moments — washing my face without rushing, lighting a candle after putting the kids to bed, letting myself breathe for five minutes. Those moments made me feel human again. And, in a way, that’s where YAWA & CO. began.
With my background in chemistry and years in animal health and clinical research, I’ve always been fascinated by how ingredients interact — the balance between nature and science. I may not have set out to create a skincare line, but when I started experimenting with blends and textures in my kitchen, something just clicked. It wasn’t just about products anymore; it was about creating little rituals that helped people slow down.
So, in 2020, I decided to make it official. That year was chaotic for everyone, but it also reminded us how much we need softness, calm, and care — not the expensive kind, but the kind that fits into everyday life.
Now, every YAWA & CO. product is made with that intention: to turn an ordinary moment — washing your hands, moisturizing after a long day — into a quiet act of care.
I’d like to think of it as science meeting self-care, or maybe just a reminder that the two can coexist beautifully.
Why Choose Us?
Pure Passion – I’ve always been a bit of a perfectionist (ask my husband). Crafting the right scent or texture can take weeks, sometimes months, but when it’s right, it feels right. Each product reflects that obsession with detail — not to be fancy, but because I genuinely care.
Affordable Luxury – “Luxury” can sound intimidating, but I believe it shouldn’t be. You deserve quality, well-made products that don’t drain your wallet. My goal is to make skincare that feels like a treat — but one you don’t have to save for special occasions.
Conscious Choices – I’ve made a deliberate choice to go palm oil–free. Palm oil itself isn’t evil, but its production often isn’t kind to the planet. Choosing alternatives feels like a small but meaningful step in the right direction.
Beyond Business – Every purchase supports more than just a brand — it supports a dream that started in a small kitchen, a family that believes in hard work, and a woman who wanted to make self-care a little more honest.
So, welcome to YAWA & CO. — a place where formulas meet feelings, and skincare is less about looking perfect and more about coming home to yourself.
